i didn't tell

I didn't tell anyone that I now have abstracts available. I resisted the request. But I have submitted. I call them "corners" and I consider them little pieces of my figure paintings... that just happen to be the pieces without the figures. My figure-phobic friends who love me and want to support my work now have an option.

Behind the Scenes of Day Dream

Returning from proofing giclee prints, the kids and I decided to explore the back roads of Lakeside, CA. We pulled off on a dirt road for an impromptu photo shoot. Above is an outtake. Below is the resulting painting. A pickup truck interrupted our session and sent Oni, my daughter, running for the vehicle (and her shirt).

"How long have you been drawing?"

If you are an artist, you have probably been asked
"How long have you been drawing/painting/taking photos...?"

This is the earliest record of my creative nature.

Notice the line quality?

Well, mother did too.
My first sketch pad was her photo album of my baby pictures.

(Father was supposed to be watching me.)

in progress

Currently I am working on a series celebrating hidden magick call the "Incognito Witch Series." I have two paintings left to complete from the original seven concept sketches featuring women. Once the original set are complete, I will expand the mythology to include men and start a new series of seven. Also, considering couples and eventually smaller works focusing on faces.

In addition to the series of paintings, I am completing a documentary on the series, redesigning my websites and launching an ad campaign, all of which come to a head in March -- insanity.

I hope to share my progress shots here and any notable comments.
